Jamie Jit, LMHC

Jamie Jit earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Berea

College, and Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Grand

Canyon University. She has been a professional counselor since 2017

and she offers individual sessions for a variety of ages with the goal of

guiding clients toward meaningful growth and offering practical tools to

overcome difficult times. She became a counselor after experiencing

the loss of her mother, and understands how important it is to have

support when grieving. She is passionate about working with young

women to empower them to find their voice and grow in confidence and

self-compassion. She completed extensive training in EMDR, a type of

therapy proven effective for treating trauma and Dialectical Behavior

Therapy, a type of therapy that focuses on the balance between

acceptance and the need for change in order to manage emotions,

tolerate distress and improve relationships. She is also trained in Child

Centered Play Therapy and enjoys working with kids ages 6 and up.

She tailors therapy for each individual client based on connection and

the tools that will benefit each client the most.

Prior to becoming a therapist she was a children’s minister for preschool

and Elementary ages, and she loves supporting parents with resources

for themselves and their kids. She is married to Andrew; they recently

celebrated their 20th anniversary and are raising two amazing daughters.

She enjoys spending time at the beach and Disney world, reading and

writing. Jamie has also traveled extensively, served on international

mission trip teams, and helps friends plan dream vacations.
