Ursula Perry, MHCSI
Ursula is a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic student intern, currently pursuing her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. Ursula quickly developed a commitment to helping others overcome trauma, addictions, and adverse childhood experiences, after enduring and overcoming first-hand trials of her own. With God, and therefore love at the center of her life, she quickly recognized the true healing power behind someone taking the time to help others from an empathetic perspective.
Ursula received her bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. After this achievement, she began working in Psychiatry, where she was able to have a deeper understanding of mental health and the significance of treating everyone with compassion no matter how severe their case may be. This is also where she discovered her gift of facilitating transformative group counseling to clients struggling with various mental illnesses. She eventually accepted the role of substance abuse counselor, where her gift of group therapy facilitation blossomed even more. She favors narrative therapy approaches, as she believes that no matter how tragic life can be, you always have the power to control and change how you view it.
When Ursula is not counseling, she enjoys working as a fitness coach at a faith-based gym. She believes in holistic wellness, practicing habits that contribute to her physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. She also enjoys fun activities with her two children and reading books on personal development.
Ursula is at the end of her master’s program journey, completing her hours under supervision at Foundations Counseling Center.
